A GOOD WILL MESSAGE BY HON. GEORGE AJANGSON,COUNCILLOR REPRESENTING OKU/BORUM/NJUA WARD ON THE OCCASION OF BOKI NEW YAM FESTIVAL.
The Hon. Councillor representing the'Peace Loving' People of Oku/Borum/Njua Ward Hon. George Ajangson felicitate his constituents on the occasion of Boki New Yam festival. In his good will message the Hon. Councillor again thanked his constituents for electing him as Councillor. He thanked God Almighty for the good health, strength and great disposition in discharging the onerous legislative responsibility entrusted upon him by his people. He urged the people of Oku/Borum/Njua ward to thank God for yet another Boki New Yam festival which he said represents the rich cultural heritage of the Boki people. Hon. George Ajangson used the opportunity to assure the people that he will sponsor a Bill for a Bylaw to accord due recognition to the Boki New Yam festival where the State Government and other National and international organizations will be partnering the Boki LGC for greater celebration and recognition.
Hon. George Ajangson wondered the grace of God on the Boki farmers who he described as the best farmers in the whole Cross River State. He called on the people to continue to celebrate God in their bountiful harvest witnessed this year. The Hon. Councillor wondered how a yam seedling was buried and after 7-8 months a big tuber of yam is harvested,he concluded that such a miracle can only be God's.
Hon George Ajangson called on the people of his ward to be more united and imbibe the spirit of oneness, togetherness, unity and love amongst them,and use the occasion of the new yam festival to support the less privilege in the society.
The Hon. Councillor thanked the people of his ward for the uncommon support they have given him,the entire Boki 7th legislature and very importantly the administration of Past. John Ewa who he promised will deliver in all the campaign promises. He further reiterates that Past. Hon.John Ewa is the "best thing" that has happened to the Boki people at this critical time of Boki common history.
Hon.George Ajangson called on the Boki people to continue to show unalloyed/unflinching support and loyalty to the Governor of CRS H.E. Sen.Prof. Ben B. Ayade for his uncommon strides so far achieved in 5 years as Governor of Cross River State.The Councillor also called on the people of his ward/Boki at large to continue to support the PDP from the unit level,ward,chapter,state and the NWC and to also show respect to the leaders of Boki at all times.
The Hon. Councillor concluded by calling on the youths to shun cultism,rape,drug abuse,disregard/disrespect for the elders in the society. He admonished the Boki youths to get engaged in meaningful ventures that can fetch them good lives and put food on the table and not totally rely on politics as a profession. He further assure his constituents of quality and effective representation in/out of the legislative chambers. He promised to continue to legislate on critical issues that directly affects his constituents and the Boki people. He said he has so far moved 6 motions on critical/important issues on the floor of the plenary including a motion calling on both the local and State governments to urgently repair the failed portion of road at the Boki oil palm estate in Oku/Borum/Njua ward,a road the Hon. Councillor described as an abandoned road by government at all level for the past 20 years and still counting.The Hon. Councillor said he has three (3) Bills for first reading and promised to push hard for them to become Bylaws in Boki LGA. The Hon. Councillor wish the Leader of the Boki 7th Assembly Hon.Amos Otu,the Deputy Leader Hon.Theresa Omang,the entire leadership of the House,other of his colleagues,the clerk of the House and indeed the entire staff of the Boki council the best New Yam celebration.
Hon. George Ajangson thanked the Boki leaders for sustaining what our ancestors started and prayed God to help them to unit Boki over and above the plots of Boki common enemies.
