Yakurr LGA Chairman Celebrates Ugep New Yam Festival in the Palace of Obol Lopon of Ugep and Paramount Ruler of Yakurr.

Honor they say is given to whom Honor is due, on that note, the Executive Chairman of Yakurr LGA Hon. Ofem Ebri Obeten, together with her adorable Wife the First Lady of Yakurr LGA Elder Mrs, Margaret Ofem Ebri, Celebrates the 2020 Ugep New Yam festival in the Palace of Obol Lopon of Ugep and Paramount Ruler of Yakurr

Amidst the celebration the elegant Vice Chairman of Yakurr LGA Mrs. Maria Enyim Obeten, forgetting not the Speaker of Cross River State House of Assembly, Rt Hon. Jones William Eteng and other dignitaries were also present.

This was marked by the pouring of traditional libations and prayers for the success of the chairman in council and the eating of the roasted new yam to herald the commencement of the eating of the new yam by the Ugep people.

The Executive Chairman counted it a great privilege to be honored by the Obol Lopon of Ugep and all the traditional Rulers of Ugep Urban.

Different traditional dancers were at display to mark the celebration.
