2020: APC Senatorial Aspirant Rejects Primaries Outcome, Berates Leadership.

Odey Ochicha rejects in its  entirety the outcome of the APC Cross River North primaries.


A front line politician and aspirant for Cross River North Senatorial District on the platform of All Progressives Congress (APC), Mr. Odey Anthony Ochicha has described the APC Cross River North Senatorial primaries as a charade, blaming the leadership of the party  for its poor and miserable outcome.

Ochicha who made this known while speaking at a press briefing and addressing his teeming supporters in his hometown Bekwarra on Saturday, 5th September, 2020 expressed disappointment over the way and manner the primary was conducted in the district.

He pointed out that the process was a total disregard and disrespect for democracy and fraught with unprecedented irregularities pointing out that it was not free, fair, credible and or transparent.

He alleged that some desperados and power brokers hijacked the process and the materials in order to impose their preferred  candidate as the party flag bearer.

Ochicha berated the leadership of the All Progressives Congress for falling cheaply into the hands of some politicians routing for the ticket, adding that nobody can pocket him. He said he is ready to seek redress at the appropriate quarters.

He lamented that after obtaining nomination forms and cleared by Mr. Koali Olusanya-led Screening Committee and issued  with the certificate of clearance, nobody can cheaply make away with what should be properly and democratically done.

He said the process of the primaries is totally unacceptable and will appeal  the charade. No moneybag can cow me. I am formally going to lodge my appeal.

“ I urged my teaming supporters to remain calm as we shall ensure that the right thing is done.

The process can be described in three words as a "mockery of democracy".

"My supporters and I reject the outcome of the  purported primaries in its entirety as the results are fake and a total disregard for democracy. There was no primaries but a display of brigandage and deceit not expected of a party that professes integrity, change, progress and next level as its mantra", he said
