C'river Commissioner For Women Affairs Embark On A Shelter Survey With EU-UN Spotlight Initiative

The Commissioner for Women Affairs, Mrs Rita Ayim, has reiterated Ayade's commitment to lay hold of gender base issues, in earnest to cease violence against women and girl child as well as, grant a propitious  environment for survivors to dwell in.

Earlier today, Hon. Rita Ayim conveyed the EU-UN Spotlight Initiative on a familiarization shelter survey to Federal Ministry of Women Affairs and Social Development, Braille Press Centre and Cross River State Women Affairs and Social Development, Lemma Estate, Calabar.

According to the Commissioner, The visit was to ensure survivors are safeguard in a conducive and favourable housing on the report of any Gender violence case.

Accompanied during the visit were the UN-Spotlight team, Mr. Yinka Akibu, Mrs Victoria Lar, Tosin Akibu and Mrs. Elizabeth Akpana Egharevba. The team expressed their satisfaction and delight on the familiarisation visit/tour.

The High point of the survey was to ensure survivors are safeguarded in a favourable and conducive housing before the prosecution of case
