HUNDRED DAYS IN OFFICE OF YAKURR LOCAL GOVERNMENT AREA:

Hundred (100) days in office of the Chairman of Yakurr L.G.A Hon. Ofem Ebri Obeten. As a humble servant, is one of the most greatest assets God has blessed the council with.

In 2nd June 2020 Hon. Ofem Ebri Obeten was sworn into office by the Executive Governor of Cross River State His Excellency Prof Sir. Benedict Ayade.

On assumption of office, the Chairman embarked on a tour to acertained the level of infrastructural and facilities decay in the council to enable him interven in the repairs and renovation of this facilities that will enhance a conducive environment for work.

ELECTRICITY - the council suffered black out for the past five (5) years, upon resumption of duty the Chairman saw the need to effect electricity supply in all the offices of council, it is a fact to say that electricity is seen powering all council gadgets and appliances for effective service deliverey.

RENOVATION - Renovation of council infrastructure became a focal point in the life of the administration of Hon. Ofem Ebri Obeten, on resumption, the council Boss took on the renovation of Council Hall, the Legislative block, the Chairman's office, the Chairman's official Residence with a newly drilled borehole and the Chieftaincy block. 

Vehicles of council that have been abondoned were also repaired for effective service deliverey.

In other to compliment the effort of the State in the drive to industrilized the tourism sector, the Chairman rekindle the Yakurr Local Government Guest House to meet world class standard.

The Chairman did not only limit his administration commitment to construction and renovation of council infrastructure, but also indentifies other areas that are critical to the development of Yakurr LGA such as security which form the base of any development in the society. 

On account of resumption of office the Chairman had an interphase meetings with all service chiefs and the traditional rulers of Yakurr LGA, with a view to curb crime and maintain peace and security in all the communities of the LGA.

It is pertinent to note that, the effective security of lives and property of the people in Yakurr is as a result of a total commitment of the Chairman placing premium to the protection of lives and property of the people as demonstrated in the  Ugep, Idomi and the Mkpani Chieftaincy crisis which ended in allowing justice and dialogue to prevail for the promotion of peace and development in the area.

In view of this great achievement recorded in three (3) months Hon. Ofem Ebri Obeten, is using this occasion of hundred (100) days in office to call on investors all over Nigeria and beyond to come and invest in Yakurr Local Government Area, and to take advantage of the population, peace and security and mineral deposit in Yakurr LGA.
