UNICAL VC: HON. TESSY OMANG CELEBRATES PROF FLORENCE OBI, SAYS SHE IS A PATHFINDER FOR WOMEN

The Honorable Councillor of Ekpashi Ward and Deputy Leader of Boki Legislative Council, Hon. Tessy Omang, has applauded the emergence of Professor Florence Banku Obi, as the Vice Chancellor of the prestigious University of Calabar.

Hon. Omang, who affirmed that women were gradually taking their pride of place in the comity of modern societies, noted that Prof Obi's gradual and steady elevation was as a result of her penchant zeal for work. She maintained that with the trend of events, women were begining to show capacity even in areas hitherto thought, were the preserve of men only.

In a congratulatory message signed and made available to newsmen, the Deputy Leader stated that Prof Obi is an enigma, imbued with  courage and strength.

"I humbly Congratulate your, Dear Prof, for maintaining that consistent zeal of hardwok which has greatly paid. You have remain torch-bearer for the women and a Pathfinder for all the girl-child.
"Your antecedent has shown clearly, that every woman can become whatever she chooses to do with determination. You have greatly inspired us the once referenced 'weaker vessels', trading in terrains that only men could venture. I celebrate you, the entire women and people of Ekpashi Ward in Boki send their greetings. CONGRATULATIONS", she said.
