Yakurr Students set to hold her Peace, Security and Entrepreneurial Summit- Central Reports

Holds Her: Peace, Security and Entrepreneurial Summit-

 Theme: Education and Youth Empowerment; A Panacea to sustainable development in Nigeria, A case study of Yakurr.(Keynote Address)

THE PURPOSE OF THIS SUMMIT:

The imperativeness of a peaceful society cannot be overemphasized since the origin of man down to our contemporary generation. This is imperative because sustainable development can only take place in a peaceful society.

In recent times, statistics have showed  that between October 2019 to May 2020, the Yakurr  nation has been enmeshed in incessant blood bath which has sent the lives of Ten (10) promising and energetic Youths to the cold hands of Death, destruction of properties worth millions of Naira, Social Vices, Rape, Gender base Violence, Robbery and Gansterism/Hooliganism all in the increase; all these iniquitous activities are mostly carried out by young men within the ages of 15years – 35years  old who belong to one cult or the other and sometimes as a bid to exact influence over the other leads to superiority context among cult groups which in turn leads to lost of lives.

This was crystal clear that the peace and security of Yakurr nation has been abridged making it practically impossible for tangible development to strive as no investor is willing to invest in crisis prone areas.

Even though we commend the assiduous efforts of all the security chiefs; the Paramount ruler, Community Chief's and well-meaning Yakurr Sons and Daughters who aroused gallantly against these nefarious and inimical activities and restored relative peace, we charge them to do more and be on top of the game always.

This submit is anchored on the premise that the National Assoiciation Yakurr Students World-Wide (NAYS-WW) are partners in progress with all those saddled with the responsibilities of ensuring the safety of lives and properties and one of the ways of complimenting their gallantry efforts is through events of this nature, sensitization programs and trainings and retraining in skills acquisition programs etc. Hence the cores objectives of this submit inter alia are as follows.

1. To reawaken the consciousness of Yakurr students from secondary to territory institutions that the association still exist as a legal body that speaks against any form of societal injustice and Social Vices in the society.

2. The summit among other objectives is aimed at inculcating into participants the sense of national consciousness and good values.

3. The submit through various resource persons that will be addressing and educating participants, aims at dissuading the mindsets of some participants who in one way or the other have grime their hands into illegal associations and fraternities thereby resorting to a legal ways of denouncement.

4. The summit is also aimed at heralding a new order of patriotic, peaceful, creative, innovative and resourceful younger generation for the sustainable development of the society.

5. Through this summit, participants will be reminded of the consequences of indulging in evil-minded and inimical acts.

It is our believe that this summit will ingrain and inculcate entrepreneurial spirit & knowledge into the spirit, soul and body of participants thereby not only focusing on conventional education, but venturing into technical and vocational education which is the surest way to self reliance via our resource person that are proficient in that aspect and set the stage for our forthcoming free Three(3) weeks skills acquisition programme.
